About:
Marcelo Doria is a Brazilian entrepreneur and ecosystem builder with more than 25 years of experience launching and scaling ventures that address urgent environmental and social challenges. As Founder & COO of Carrot, he is pioneering a digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) platform that certifies circularity and issues tokenized Recycling and Carbon Credits—rewarding high-performance recycling and funding market-ready waste solutions worldwide. Carrot’s mission is to unite global participants in ending waste, preserving natural resources, and combating climate change.
Before Carrot, Marcelo co-founded Solidos, Inc., an impact technology company that digitises waste operations, reduces recycling costs, and tracks waste to certified destinations—building the operational backbone of Brazil’s emerging circular economy. He also serves on the board of the Ecozinha Institute, which manages Brazil’s first Zero Waste bar and restaurant network, organizes large-scale glass and organic waste recycling, and achieves landfill diversion rates of over 90%.
A passionate advocate for inclusion through sport, Marcelo co-founded the Water Polo Masters Association (AMPA), introducing water polo to underserved communities such as Favela do Jaguaré, engaging over 200 young people. His career reflects a commitment to solutions that are both scalable and human-centred—whether in climate tech, grassroots organisng, or international partnerships with corporations, governments, and NGOs.
Marcelo’s guiding belief: when communities are empowered with the right tools and incentives, they can transform even the most entrenched environmental challenges into opportunities for shared prosperity.
