Anja Koenig is a transformation catalyst working at the intersection of impact finance, systems change, and entrepreneurship. As Co-Lead of the alv foundation and Founder of Social Impact Markets, she helps shape innovative financing models and cross-sector strategies to tackle complex societal challenges. Anja draws on over 15 years of global experience working with foundations, governments, and social innovators.

Anja Koenig is a seasoned expert in impact finance, systems change, and sustainable entrepreneurship. She is Co-Lead of the alv foundation and Founder of Social Impact Markets, a Berlin-based advisory and innovation platform that works globally to build regenerative economic models through finance innovation, collective action, and cross-sector partnerships.
Over the past 15 years, Anja has designed and facilitated financing initiatives with development banks, public agencies, foundations, and global networks. At Impact Europe (formerly EVPA), she co-founded the Transformative Finance Initiative and Investing for Development, bridging European impact investors with global development finance institutions. Her advisory work includes developing financing strategies for the German government, KfW, and Swiss development agencies.
With a strong background in facilitation, systems thinking (Theory U, Arts of Hosting), and mentoring, she supports leaders and professionals navigating change in their careers and organizations. Her work is driven by the conviction that entrepreneurship, innovation, and capital aligned with impact can be powerful tools to drive structural transformation.
Anja is based in Berlin and collaborates with partners across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
