About:

Ruth von Heusinger combines scientific expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and investment strategy to fight the climate crisis at systemic scale. After earning her physics degree in Berlin and Paris—culminating in a thesis on Higgs boson creation—she began her career in the energy sector at Statkraft, working across Europe, South America, and Asia in power market analysis, emissions trading, and renewable energy operations. She later applied her analytical skills as a business intelligence consultant and then as a business developer at atmosfair, gaining deep insight into voluntary carbon markets.

In 2019, Ruth founded ForTomorrow, a non-profit that enables individuals to directly accelerate climate action in Europe. The organization leverages the European Emissions Trading System to make climate-friendly business models more profitable than climate-damaging ones—permanently removing CO₂ allowances from the market and complementing this with European reforestation projects. Under her leadership, ForTomorrow has been recognized with the Phineo Wirkt-Siegel, Business Punk Watchlist 2023, and the Planet Hero Award 2022.

In 2023, Ruth expanded her impact through Hanami Ventures, channeling capital into early-stage startups and VC funds focused on climate innovation. Her portfolio spans breakthrough technologies from sustainable materials to advanced aerospace. She also serves on the boards of Ecopreneur.eu and the Bundesverband Nachhaltige Wirtschaft, shaping policy and business strategy for a sustainable European economy.
